| Art exhibit explores stereotypes, News Express. Elora, Ontario. Wed, Jan 26th, 2005 | |||
| "Throughout time, male and female heroes have been treated as iconic figures, worshipped by society. Waldeck uses the quintessential male and female role models to reflect these stereotypes - the childhood dream of wanting to be a cowboy and the role of angel women are expected to play. "I believe we are all angelic and we all have something to offer the world," he says adding that he has used his work to bend gender rules and stereotypes, which are still present today. Waldeck says one of his favourite pieces is Sarabande, which explores the role of censorship in the past and present" | |||
