A disturbing glimpse beyond the conscious, The Record. Kitchener, Ontario. Sat, April 19th, 2003

"Wandering Robert Waldeck's exhibition, Incognito, is like walking through a waking nightmare.  The 17 pop phantasmagorical paintings on view...are a surrealistic blend of the familiar and the bizarre where consciousness and the unconscious clash...The masks themselves are elaborate, serpentine affairs that are no less fascinating for being gruesome and grotesque.  We are attracted as we are repulsed...It's clear from viewing these pictures that Waldeck enjoys the physicality and the plasticity of working with oil paint."
